Carpet was dirty at doorway to bath room. Beds were uncomfortable - worn out. Room looked way out of date.

    • Group of friends

The thing I liked most about my stay at Americas "Best Value" Inn Gulfport is that the a/c was cold and there was a lock on the door.

The things I did not like about Americas "Best Value" Inn Gulfport are as follows: 1) The room had the WORST smell in the world. It smelled like wet carpet. I told the clerk at the front desk about the smell and asked him if the room sustained water damage from hurricane Isaac and he told me "No, that smell is the shampoo we use when we clean the carpets." 2) One of the chairs at the small table inside the room had a disgusting looking stain on the fabric. It looked as if someone used the chair as a toilet. 3) The ceiling in the bathroom was stained badly and the wooden panel on the bottom of the door was peeling off and looking as if a animal had been scratching it. It also appeared to be warped possibly from water damage. Overall, I do not and will not ever recommend this hotel for anyone. This terrible experience cost me $90. That's pretty bad when I stayed at the Royal St Charles hotel in New Orleans the very next night for only $94. Save yourself the money and go somewhere else.

    • Older travelers

It was a place to stay.

I reserved a non smoking king room but was given a smoking room. They changed it for me but we had to have a double room which was very crowded. I would not stay in another Americas Best because it certainly was not.

    • Group of friends

      Location served was rest stop

Need carpets cleaned and a feeling of cleanliness including smell. No I would not stay again

    • Older travelers

      The bed was very comfortable

We stayed two nights. When we arrived there was only one hand towel in the room. The phone did not work so I could call the front desk. I had to walk to the front desk and request towels. I was told they would see what they could do. The second day we finally got two bath towels and one wash cloth. Our room was not serviced during our stay. We wound up going to walmart and buying towels so we could bath. On the plus side the linens were clean and the bed was the most comfy bed I have ever slept in outside my own bed.

Tonya displayed superior customer service skills. She was very accomodating to us. Debra Foster

They had smoking rooms which are limited.

Rooms are worn & shabby, I had to do some cleaning in the room before I was somewhat comfortable, phone & hair dryer were too disgusting to touch and I was afraid to open microwave or ice box based on those observations. The carpet was also extremely worn & dirty, I would not walk barefoot, had to make a path with towels. Also phone didn't work unless you jiggled the cord and the bathroom door was missing wood framing. Bath tub drain stopper would not shut and couldn't get much hot water.

    • Family with children

      Pool, location, breakfast

1/2 the washers and dryers broken, pool not open whole stay, could not find reservation, rooms didn't look like internet pictures, beds were to be queen, but were double

    • Group of friends

Booked four rooms. Each room was moldy and held a musty odor

    • Older travelers

The first night we stayed there it was a fri. Night and we had a pool side room. Well there was a rv parked out back with all the people traveling with them (about 20) all out in the parking lot boiling crabs drinking, playing Loud music til the wee morning hours. When they left the next day there was beer bottles all over. They broke the back privacy fence so they could go to the bathroom. The coke machine was broke by the pool, by 10am there was no ice... Won't be back..

    • Older travelers

I found this facility to be old and dirty. The linens were torn and ragged. There was a very offensive odor in the room. Woe were so tired, we decided to sleep in our clothes and get out quickly. I booked a king room but was given two doubles.

    • Group of friends
7.0 had frig, microwave, nice to be able to bring food in to shower everytime

    • Family with children

The older lady at the front desk when we checked out was very kind.

This hotel is filthy and overpriced.

Since I was here for an illness in the family, when that person rallied, I was given a credit for unused nights

2 days later when my family member passed, I reserved 3 rooms for people traveling, 13,6 and 3 hours . I had asked for the rooms at noon. When we arrived we were denied access to the rooms until 2pm- not enough time for 7 people to get ready for services. The clerk who had been so friendly and helpful earlier turned the other cheek. So did we. We stayed at the competition in a much nicer room for only $10.00 more.
